PREGNANCY YOGA

Yoga in pregnancy is great for both mother-to-be and her growing baby inside. As the mother focuses on her breathing and moving with her changing shape, many common pregnancy related conditions may be avoided, such as back pain, shortness of breath, heartburn, sleeplessness and mood swings.

The classes are relaxed and friendly and each mother is encouraged to find her own place of ease with the positions and to move at her own pace. There is always a guided relaxation at the end.

As the pregnancy enters the final trimester the emphasis moves towards birth preparation. Techniques are offered to help encourage a gentle birth, including physical preparations for the pelvis and pelvic ligaments, birth positions, visualisation techniques and breathing techniques.
